7th Grade Math

      This first week of school there will be an emphasis on organization.  Every child has been given an agenda and should use it daily. This is a good way for the parents to know what has been assigned . Parents can also communicate with the teacher through the agenda in addition to e-mail and teacherweb. Books will issued the first week also.Students must get their paperwork turned in to get their locker issued.I look forward to a great school year.

     Every student in my math class has now been issued the following items ( a textbook, a cd of the textbook, a cd tutorial of the textbook, a guide, a practice workbook, and a packet of problems of the day ) I have asked the students to put everything in one 2+ inch binder. This will keep their math materials all in one place. The cd's are to be left at home.



     There are only two more weeks in this nine week period. I am giving the math exam in two parts.  The first part will be given on Thursday Sept 29th. The students will have 20 multiple choice questions.They will be able to use the calculator and the math reference sheet that they were given. Then during exam week they will take the non calculator portion which is also 20 similar questions. This will allow them to study for the subjects assigned each day and not concentrate on only math.

     Many students are taking a break now that the first report cards have been issued. Students have not been keeping up with their work since exams were finished. Please continue to monitor STI so that they do not get too far behind. This nine weeks has the holidays to distract the students so they will need constant prodding from all of us.
