"I'M IN"



August 8, 2010

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is a pleasure for me to welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year. I welcome you to our classroom with open arms for this school year. Our class will be hands on and open to you at all times.    




School Theme:

This year our whole school theme is "I'M IN." As a school encouraging the students to be in for success academically and behaviorally is key to their overall success. I would like for all of us to be in and I welcome you and your child to be IN for an excellent school year.

Supplies

1. 1 three ring binder (please have dividers for all subjects in it),

2. Loose leaf paper.

3. Pencils, ink pens, erasers, markers

4. (Hand sanitizer).

5. Pencil Sharpener.

Tardies

Our school begins at 7:25 A.M. Your child is not excused when checked-in by a parent unless a doctor's note is given or other extenuating circumstances. Students will also be given detentions when tardy for class. Please discuss the school tardy policy with your child.

Tardy: Definition: A student not in his/her seat when the tardy bell rings

  • 1st Tardy: Warning 2nd Tardy: Detention & parent contacted
  • 3rd Tardy: Detention & parent contacted
  • 4th Tardy: Office Referral (Saturday Detention, etc.)

Parents

Please remember that all grades are posted on STI computer program, which can be accessed on the internet.

Appropriate Behavior & Class rules

Behavior ensures success academically. Students will have green binders with daily behavior forms showing their behavior in their classes. It is important that your sign off on this letter which will assist me and your child with the management of their behavior in class. I will email or send notices if those behavior logs were not signed.

"No Zero Policy"

If your child misses an assignment they will have the opportunity to MAKE IT UP WITH A DEADLINE!

Cell Phones

Cell Phones are not allowed in school. If one is taken your will be called to come and retrieve it from the teacher or school office.
