I strive to provide a comfortable and safe environment for the children to
work and play in. We are a classroom family, and as such, we expect the
children to follow the rules so that everyone has an opportunity to learn.
If a child chooses to break a rule:
1st consequence: Name on board, warning
2nd consequence: One check next to name. (lose 5 minutes of playtime)
3rd consequence: Second check next to name.(lose 10 minutes of playtime)
4th consequence: Third check next to name.(lose 15 minutes of playtime)
5th consequence: Fourth check next to name (lose all of playtime and a letter
sent home to parents. In case of severe disruption the principal and the
school counselor will be notified.
If the child self-corrects his/her inappropriate behavior, then he/she may
erase a check. I will send home A WEEKLY BEHAVIOR CHART for each
child in my classroom during the month of September. This chart will give
parents some indication of how their child is adjusting to school.
Please discuss any problem areas and encourage your child to follow the
rules. A Parent/Teacher conference will be held for children with repeated
discipline problems.
Students who behave appropriately will be positively rewarded with one of the
following:
positive notes home verbal praise free time
small prize coupons (from local restaurants)
