thought I'd post them to our site for everyone!

- How can I get extra help in my class?
Is there a late bus for extra help? Sports?
Yes! Bay Path has late buses for students who stay after with a
teacher for extra help or a club. The bus runs Monday to Thursday
and leaves Bay Path at 3:30pm. We also offer sports buses for
our sports programs tha run according to the sports schedules.
What do I need for the first day of school?
You will recieve your class/shop schedule in the mail in August.
Each class needs a notebook and folder to hold papers, don'r
forget one for health! Bring a pencil pouch with supplies in it
and AN AGENDA NOTEBOOK to write down your assignemnts on a daily
basis. You will begin in academics but when it is shop time MAKE
SURE YOU HAVE THE PROPER CLOTHES including workboots, as needed.
Your FIRST pair of safety glasses will be given to you in your
first exploratory.
Can students pre-pay for our school breakfast or lunch program?
Yes! A students parent can pre-pay their child's meal plan.
Parents can mail/bring a check to the business office and this
money would be credited to the student's ID card which is
required for purchasing meals. We have a full breakfast and
lunch program.
Can I change an Exploratory program?
Yes! If you wish to change one of your scheduled exploratory
programs, come see me in the guidance office and we can see if
there is an available spot in the shop you wish to add into.
There are 9 exploratory programs you will explore so there are
options but keep in mind many shops fill up right for the start.
Can I change one of my academic classes?
Your schedule has been created for you as a result of your score
for our test and your academic history. If you feel a class is
not appropriate for you just come see me in the guidance office
and we can discuss our options. Your parent will be required to
also approve of the change.
What do I do if I change my mind and wish to transfer back to my local town?
Bay Path is an application school, therefore you can return to
your local school if you wish. We do have a sign out procedure
that MUST be followed so your local school recieves the necessary
paperwork. Your parents need to approve of this as well. See me
in the guidance office if you and your parents feel this is best
for you. We at Bay Path encourage you to make a commitment to us
for the first quarter or two because it takes time to adjust to
our school schedule and our vocational training programs.
Can I play sports at Bay Path?
YES! We encourage all our students to get involved in out sports,
clubs and student organizations. We DO have a grade requirement
for our student to participate in these so KEEP YOU GRADES UP!
How important is homework at Bay Path?
VERY! The best thing you can do to help your success at Bay Path
is DO YOUR HOMEWORK and come to school! Our school days are very
full! We don't have study periods or free periods for students
to do their work, it must be done after school hours. Being a
Vocational school we have all the requirements that your local
towns have as far as classwork is concerned with the ADDED
responsibilites of our trade areas which we take very serious as
a result TIME IS PRECIOUS -- DON'T WASTE IT!
What do I do if I am absent?
Bay Path takes student attendance very seriously. Our days are
VERY full whether it be an academic day or trade day and absences
can quickly cause a student to fall behind. WE do have an
Attendance Policy so please review it in our student handbook. We
do excuse absences IF a doctor note or other professional note is
given to our main offce but the student IS STILL responsible for
the missed work and it is the STUDENTS job to seek out the
teacher and the work. PLEASE NOTE--VACATIONS are not excused!
What do parents do if they would like to speak with a teacher?
Bay Path welcomes communication with parents with the
understanding that being a BUSY high school, a meeting with ALL
your child's teachers at once is almost impossible with everyone
teaching students everyday. The best ways to communicate with
your child's teacher is by using Parents nights, individual
teacher emails/telephone conversations/notes given to the teacher
by your student or scheduled individual meetings. Our school
Website lists all teachers emails and telephone extentions for
you to use as needed.
How can I get extra help in my class?
Every teacher has an after school day, every week! Yes, I mean on
shop or academic week!. As a student, just tell your teacher the
same day you are staying so they may plan accordingly and JUST
stay to get that extra help--its easy!
