What's the grading policy in World History? Well, everything is based on points. A big project that takes considerable effort and time will be worth more than a quick little homework assignment connected to a history reading. All work is expected to be ready and completed on its due date. When work is turned in late (a big project, for instance), it will be marked down 10% per day. For example, if the project is worth 50 points and it's turned in 2 days late, the student could earn no higher than a 40/50, if all else meets all the criteria. (10% of 50 is 5 points x 2 days late = 10 points off) Please don't put yourself in this position. We often have class time as well as homework time to thoroughly and thoughtfully complete all work. For small homework assignments, such as a quick reading and answering of a few questions, it is usually worth 10 points and used as the jumping point for a class discussion. If you don't have it, you aren't prepared for the discussion...but if you get it completed for the next day, you could earn 1/2 credit or 5 points. Be responsible for you - utilize your agenda book to keep track of important dates and assignments (I use my constantly and would be lost without it!). Remember our mantra: Studying (or doing work)for a little bit over a lot of nights is way more effective than studying for a lot on 1 little night.
