Activity #1-
    Write about the most exciting part of this story,or write about the most
 boring part. Give specific reasons for your opinion.

Activity #2-
    Describe the setting of this story(where and when it takes place).
 Be descriptive. Draw a picture of the setting.

Activity #3-
     Draw a picture of your favorite part of this story. Add a caption 
 explaining what is happening in your picture.

Activity #4-
      Make a timeline showing the important  events of this story. Draw 
 some pictures on your timeline.

Activity #5
      What do you think are the five most important events in this story?
 List them in reverse order of importance, beginning with the most important 
event.

Activity #6 
     Choose one character in this story. Think about what that character
 was like at the beginning of the story. Write about how the character
 changed by the end of the story.

Activity #7
      If you could trade places with any character in the story, who would 
 you choose? Write about why you chose this character.

Activity #8
      Which character in this story is most unlike you? Write about how you  
 are differant from this character. Tell whether you think you and this 
character could be friends.

Activity #9 
     Write an ODE to this story. (An ode is a type of poem that doesn't have 
 to rhyme.)

Activity #10
     Pretend that you have been chosen to write a sequel to this story.
 Include infomation about the sequel's plot, setting, and main characters.

Activity #11
     Make a bookmark illustrating this story. On the back of the bookmark, 
 write at least five words you would use to describe the story.

Activity #12
     Make a word search, crossword, or any other puzzle using at least ten
 new or challenging vocabulary words from the story. Make an answer key.

Activity #13
     What award would you nominate this story for? Most Exciting? Most
 Likely To Make You Laugh Your Head Off? Write about the award you would
 give this story. Tell why you chose this award.

Activity #14
     Write about the pages you read today.

Activity #15
     Think about the setting of this story. Write about why you would or 
 would not like to spend a week in this place.

Activity #16 
     Write about one problem in this story and how the character(s) solved 
 it. Was it a good solution? Why or why not?
