What materials does my child need for Social Studies?
I will be giving a list to the students. However, if you would like
to get a jump on things... a three ring binder big enough to hold all
notes, tests, papers, etc. for half of the year. They should also
have a supply of white lined paper that can be 3 hole punched or is
already 3 hole punched. Each student is expected to have blue or
black pens, pencils with erasers, a ruler, and highlighters. It
would also be a good idea to have a three hole punch and those little
stickers that protect those holes. (Papers usually end up getting
ripped out if they do not have them)
Do all tests and quizzes come home? Do they have to be signed?
YES and YES!!!! All tests and quizzes should make their way home
within 24 hours of getting them back. I do my very best to grade in
a timely fashion, so if you know they took a test, you know it should
be coming back. Every test and quiz must be signed by a parent or
guardian and returned back to me for the next class. I will be
checking!
Will all homework be posted daily on this web page?
Again, I will do my best to keep this page updated. However, this is
NOT the primary homework board. Homework is both verbally and
visually presented to the students during class. It is the student's
responsibility to get his or her homework for the day. This page is
to help you keep updated with assignments and help students when they
are out. Again, work is posted in class. I will try to get it on
this site daily. If a student is in class on the day something is
assigned he or she is expected to complete the assignment regardless
of whether or not it appears on this web site.
Does my child need to use his/her assignment book?
Yes, it is a requirement. It should be filled in daily with COMPLETE
assignments that can be understood once he/she arrives home. Students
tend to abbreviate or leave things out. This leads to problems once
they get home. We know the space is small...they need to try to get
it all in.
Do I need to sign my child's assignment book?
You do not need to sign it. However, you are highly encouraged to
look at it nightly and check to make sure it is getting done.
