Notice:
Parents PLEASE check your student's assignment book.
JOURNAL DUE DATES ARE BACK IN PLACE NOW.
MCAS testing for grade 6 ELA is over. HOWEVER, we have TEN more weeks
of school, despite the fact that the kids think we are all done because the
testing is over. Please help us to encourage the students to continue to
work at their top potential.
Next week we will be returning to a more structured schedule. Journals will
be due according to the original schedule.
Wordly Wise Units will resume on Monday and as much as possible, I would like
to stick to a certain schedule. I plan to pass the booklet out on Monday and
plan the review for Friday.
Also, we need to get back on schedule with reading calendars. The Reading
Initiative Program requires the students to read their independent reading
books for at least 20 minutes every night. Parents are required to sign
students' reading calendars and calendars are turned in each week with
journals. Your signature attests to the fact that your child has done the
minimum reading requirement. Calendars are considered homework.
Students are also required to have their independent reading books with them
daily. This is also considered a homework assignment.
Together, I hope we can make these last ten weeks productive as well as
enjoyable for the sixth grade students
Thanks for your help.
