Monthly Update
Classroom Update: November 2009
This month we continue our study of Motion. The students did a wonderful job working back in the lab finding the speed of the car as it rolled down the ramp using various set-up techniques and the CPO equipment.
Next, we will be studying "acceleration". We will build upon the concept of speed by exploring speeding up (positive acceleration) and slowing down (negative acceleration) using the CPO equipment once again. We will be calculating the speed of a marble as it rolls throught he hills and valleys on a rollecoater track. In the lab students will collect data measurements for finding the final velocity, initial velocity and times between different points to caluclaute the acceleration rates of the marble. Students will then be able to identify areas of positive and negative acceleration along the track of the rollercoaster.
Thank you for all of the donations of tissues, hand sanitizer and Clorox Wipes!
