Homework
Monday through Thursday your child is responsible for completing his/her homework. Each night 20 minutes of W.E.B. reading is required. A math study link will also be going home most nights and it will go along with the lesson that day in our Everyday Math program. On Monday, a math packet will also go home and it is due on Thursday. This gives your child some flexibility for completing the work.
Language arts homework will also be assigned most nights. Your child should be spending approximately 45 minutes per night on homework. Please contact me through email or a note if your child is struggling at home.
Parents often ask if they should help their child with homework. My advice is, yes, please check their work and guide them through any problem areas. Homework is a way to reinforce a concept taught, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to clarify a skill. Please write a little note in the assignment book if you would like me to know about a particular problem area.
A W.E.B. project will be due on the last Friday of each month. This will start in October. More information regarding these "Book Talks" will be going home shortly.
