Ohayo- Good morning
Ohayo gozaimasu- Good morning (more formal)

Hon suki desu ka?- Do you like books?
Hon-ga suki desu ka?- Do you like books? (more formal)
Toshokan-ga suki desu ka?- Do you like the library?
shukudai- homework
gakko- school
Shukudai-ga suki desu ka?- Do you like homework?
Gakko-ga suki desu ka?- Do you like school?
hai- yes

namae- name
Namae-wa nan desu ka?- What is your name?
Karen desu- My name is Karen. Desu means is.
Watashi- I (girls use this)
Boku- I (boys use this)
Watashi-wa Karen desu- I am Karen.

genki- healthy, energetic
Genki?- How are you?
O-genki desu ka?- How are you? (more formal)
Hai, genki desu- I'm fine. (more formal)

Soo, desu ne- Well...(Say this when you do not feel so well.)
Domo- thanks
Domo arigato- Thank you (polite)
Domo arigato gozaimasu- Thank you (very polite)
Do itashimashite- You're welcome.
Ii desu- No, thank you.
Onegai shimasu- Please do me a favor.
Kudasai- Please give me something.
Hon, kudasai- Please give me the book.
Pen, kudasai- Please give me the pen.
