Mrs. James
This is my eleventh year with the Silver Lake School System. I worked
as a Title I reading tutor in grades 1-3 in Kingston before coming to
Plympton in 2000 to teach first grade. My background includes an
undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a masters from
Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. I taught second grade in
Chicago Public Schools and also worked as an advertising/marketing
copywriter and editor for fifteen years. During that time I was a guest
lecturer for Bridgewater State College in their advertising program. My
family includes four children ages 12, 17, 20 and 23. We enjoy sports and
traveling.
Mrs. McSweeney
I have been teaching for over 18 years. I began my career as a preschool
teacher and since then have worked as a children's librarian, a Title I
teacher, and have taught grades 1, 2, and 3. I love teaching and my favorite
subjects are science, math, and reading.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State
College, a Masters Degree in Special Education from Lesley College, and a
Certificate of Advance Graduate Study from Fitchburg State College. Along
with Mrs. Claire Kelley, I plan the annual Family Math nights here at
Dennett. We also have presented these fun family math activities to other
communtities through teacher workshops and family curriculm nights.
I live in Halifax with my husband and best friend, Ed, and our two cats.
We are the proud parents of three children. They are all grown up and live
in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. I especially enjoy getting
together with my family whenever I can. I love to read, garden, kayak, ski,
and walk on the beach.
