About The Teacher

The 2011-2012 school year will be my 24th year teaching physical education
in the Bolton school system. I grew up in Leominster, MA where I still live
with my family. I grew up training in ballet for many years. In high
school I participated in gymnastics and played varsity field hockey. I
graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in physical
education and a minor in fine art. I recently completed a Masters in Physical
Education from Emporia State University, Kansas. I continue to take graduate
courses at Fitchburg State, Worcester State and Framingham State Colleges.

My husband, Joe and I have four children ranging from 30 to 14 years old.
Jeff, a Boston University graduate, is a Captain for the Air Force Reserves
and flies a C-5 doing cargo transport around the world. Scott is a recruiter
and Jennifer is in public relations at New Balance. Greg is in eighth
grade at Sawyer School and participates in many team sports. I have coached
several of his town teams.

My hobbies include golfing, walking, running, skiing and swimming.

Mission For The Class

My mission for the students is to help them learn to love activity. In
order to accomplish this goal students need to be exposed to a wide variety
of activities and have to feel successful as they learn new skills. I use
many fun activities and games to reinforce proper skill usage and to improve
fitness levels. The children are having fun playing the games and do not
realize they are getting a high level workout. When children have the
skill, confidence and desire to be active they will choose to be active
which will make them healthier, happier and academically more successful.
