There are many opportunities to volunteer within Friedman Middle School. There is no real big time commitment. Even an hour or two once a week or even every other week can make a huge difference.  Some volunteer opportunities available right now include:

1) VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST IN OUR LIBRARY - The librarian can always use an extra set of hands within the library. These extra hands are even more vital on a day when the librarian must leave the library to attend a meeting or for any other reason. Without volunteers to help out in the library, the library services may be unavailable to students for short periods of time when the librarian is at a meeting or is out for any other reason.

 

2) COPYING IN THE OFFICE. You'll be helping out our teachers by copying any papers or packets as they request. The services offered by volunteers copying in the office allow teachers to remain in their classrooms and ensures that they are not resorting to using their break time to run copies of materials.

 

3) REFRESHMENT AND CONCESSION STANDS AND CHAPERONES AT OUR SCHOOL DANCES. The concession stands allows the PTG to provide refreshments to the students at the dances while raising funds that are used to provide various student activities and programs. Chaperones are necessary to maintain a safe environment for the students to enjoy the dances.

 

4) COURTYARD CLEAN-UPS! - Volunteers are often needed to assist as we continue to clean and maintain the courtyard area of the school. Watch this website!! As courtyard clean-up dates are scheduled, the dates are posted on the website and all help (and equipment - rakes, garden shovels) is welcome!
