Updates

This week, we celebrated the 100th Day of school with twenty-one beautiful projects for our hallway museum.  Thank you so much for helping your child to complete this special assignment!  Mrs. Weene even stopped by and requested that the projects stay out an extra day to make sure the whole school had an opportunity to see.  What a special compliment to our children!

We also were treated to a special event by Joanne Goughan & Hannah Tabbara.  On Wednesday, they brought a huge assortment of items for the children to decorate their very own Valentine's Bag.  Thank you to all who helped making this a special moment for the children.  The bags are now dry :) and ready to be stuffed with valentines.  Please be sure to send in Valentine cards by Monday.

You may have heard, I was out for a couple of days.  I thought my sore throat on Monday was due to the Patriots loss.  Even though I was not present, Sali & I work closely via email.  The children did a super job helping to keep things running as expected!

Reading Street:  This week our focus was on, "What causes us to change the way we feel?"  It was a great way to discuss the loss of the Patriots.  To further our discussion we read the story, The Lion and the Mouse, a retold Aesop's fable.

Amazing Words:  jungle, beast, nibbling, snarled, trembling & entangled

High frequency words:  (word wall)  they, you, of, yes, no, it

Letter Bags:  We completed our study of the letter Oo.  Next week our focus will be Letter Hh.  Please help your child to make a Letter Hh bag to bring to school to share.

Envision News:  Ms. Danielle's completed her lesson's on counting by 5's.  Please help at home to reinforce this concept.  In addition, we have been working on the number's 8 & 9.

Other News:

Thanks to all of you, the school foyer is full of items that will be donated to the Holliston Food Pantry!  These items have been divided into groups of 10's so that the children may count.  This 100th Day Challange of collecting items will continue through Thursday.  Not sure what the present count of items is up to, but it's pretty amazing to walk by.

FYI - Our Specialist Schedule changed this week.  What this means is our class will now have Art twice a week and Creative Movement & Music once a week.  Please see Classroom Schedule (on the side bar) for new times. The change in schedule was made to offer all kindergarten classrooms equal opportunity with programing for the year.
