I live in Norfolk with my husband and two children. My son, Colin, is a
senior at Xaverian Brothers High School. My daughter, Francesca is 13 and
is a eigth-grader at King Philip Middle School in Norfolk. I also have a
dog named Tanner and he is the best dog ever!
I have been working with students at the elementary level for over 10 years.
I started as a substitute teacher in Norfolk, then I became a
paraprofessional for the Medfield and Westwood districts. I completed my
student-teaching in a 5th grade classroom at the Chickering School in Dover.
I recently finished my Master's degree in Science from Lesley
University.
I am teaching the math club this year and that will begin sometime in
January. I am also available after school for extra help.
My mission for this class is for my students to develop a stronger interest
in their education. I'd like to see all my students understand the
importance of become engaged and active learners, and it is my hope that
they will ultimately become life-long learners.
I have a passion for math and science. Ultimately, I am keeping my focus on
getting kids to really THINK in critical and strategic ways. According to
the studies, my students will be graduating college at a time when the
majority of the jobs available will be in the science and mathematics
fields. So it is my job to lead and encourage my students to pursue these
areas especially if he or she has any interest or affinity towards design,
technology, engineering, etc.
