Hello Parents and Students!
Welcome to Kindergarten! This will be my 17th year teaching here in
Hopedale. I received my B.A. from Westfield State College and my Master's
from Lesley University.
I'm really excited to start a brand new year with you. I can't wait for you
to see the classroom, make new friends and for all of you to become writers,
mathematicians, scientists and find a love for books.
This summer I read many books and took a class. I spent two gorgeous weeks
at Cape Cod with my husband and two daughters, Lucia, 10 years old and
Antonia is 6.
It is going to be wonderful to learn about what you did over the summer.
The best way for kindergarten children to learn is through active play. My
classroom is set up in active learning centers. I carefully plan the
materials in each center to develop skills and meet the needs of all
children in my class at their own level. The children develop many skills as
they play in the centers.
My classroom is a place where students feel comfortable to be themselves, a
place where they can mature as a student as well as a person. Most
importantly, it is my mission for students to laugh and explore the learning
process through hands-on and concrete experiences.
