PowerPoint assignment
After viewing the movie file in class that describes how to make a "bad" PowerPoint, create the worst
possible presentation possible. Be sure to break all the rules. This project will be due at the end of
class on Thursday.
On Friday the planning of a great presentation will begin.
Fall 2011
Students in video productionsare completing their first group
assignment. The assignment, designed to introduce new technology, is a music

Students in multimedia design 1 will be designing a poster project designed
to introduce students
to basic elements of design as well as image editing software applications.

Course Description:
The Multimedia Design course is designed to introduce students to the
fundamentals of multimedia planning, creation and presentation. This is a
hands-on,
collaborative (i.e. group work), and highly participatory course. Students
are required to complete
projects and assignments to be shared with the class.
Students will study and apply all aspects of multimedia production. The
process includes planning,
scripting, and story boarding to create projects including elements of text,
audio,
video, animation, photography, and image editing, graphic design and web
page design. The
emphasis in this course is on doing.
Learning Climate:
Students are expected to participate in class and complete all assigned
exercises.
Students are expected to use all of their class time on project development
Students are expected to take creative risks.
Grading:
Course grade will be based on 4 weekly grades. The four categories of
grading are:
Daily Grade
Self-directed Tutorial work
Project work
Teacher-directed tutorial work
Each category is of equal value.
Attendance:
Be in class and on time.
Missed class time that is not made up will result in

No work will be accepted one week after the original due date.
Assignments, quizzes or tests given during an excused absence may be made
up. It is the student's
responsibility to obtain material that they have missed during their absence.

Assignments, quizzes or
tests given during an unexcused absence will not be allowed to be made up.
Tardiness:
Students are expected to be in their seat and ready to work when the bell
rings. In the event that a
student is tardy to class, they must have a pass from the office or another
teacher excusing them
from being late. If you are going to miss class in order to assist another
teacher, you must clear it
with me prior to missing class.
If the tardy is unexcused, or if a pass is not presented, the student will
receive an unexcused tardy. 

Saving your work:
All of your work should be saved on the network. The majority of the work
you complete will be
graded on-line. Therefore, points will be deducted if you do not save the
file as instructed (file
name and location).
The internet should be used for academic purposes only. Playing games,
checking personal e-mail
and participating in chat rooms/bulletin boards are strictly prohibited
