I am currently in my thirteenth year of teaching at Hopedale JR/SR High
School.
My course descriptions have changed significantly over the years as
technology has grown and become more available.
I earned a BA in Sociology from University of Massachusetts and a MA in
Technology Education from Ball State University.
My Massachusetts certifications are in Technology Education 5-12 and
Carpentry vocational 9-13.
I am currently pusuing my certification as an on-line instructor through
Framingham State College.
Students are expected to be pro-active in their use of new technologies. I
believe the teacher is a catalyst and a resource in the learning
environment. Ultimately, real learning takes place when students are
motivated from within.
The skills aquired in my courses should transfer to most areas of the
professional and personal world. Technological literacy, once only important
to the "techies" , is now a necessary component in most aspects of life.
