I received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Bridgewater State College
and a Master's in Education from Curry College. I taught private full day
Kindergarten in Leominster for two years and then moved to North Carolina
where I taught full-day Kindergarten for six years. I moved back to
Massachusetts in 2000 and began my career at Houghton teaching Grade 1.
This will be my twelth year teaching first grade at Houghton and, and I
couldn't be happier.
I completed additional graduate classes in the field of teaching reading to
further my knowledge and ability to teach your wonderful children.
I am married to my wonderful husband Steve and we have two beautiful boys,
Daniel and Benjamin. They are all very supportive and understanding with
the time and effort I spend on my teaching career.
Our classroom is a child centered classroom where every child is encouraged
to do their best. I believe it is my obligation to help each child grow
both academically and socially through developmentally appropriate practices
and activities. I hope to foster a love for learning and a desire to always
try to live by our school values: RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, HONESTY,
KINDNESS, and COOPERATION.
