Jump Rope for Heart

We are getting ready for the 2nd annual Jump Rope for Heart (JR4H) event. Jump Rope For Heart is a national educational fund-raising program that is sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). Jump Rope For Heart engages elementary students in jumping rope while raising funds to support lifesaving heart and stroke research. Students ask friends and family for donations and receive thank-you gifts based on the dollars they raise. This educational program teaches physical fitness and promotes the value of community service to students and their families. It shows students that they can contribute to their community's welfare. Jump Rope for Heart is being held on March 18th, which is a parent conference day. The event will begin immediately following dismissal, approximately 12:00. The session will last until 1:00. You will need to make arrangements to have your child picked up by 1:15. Please note that lunch will not be served at school. Please provide a small peanut-free snack and a water bottle for your son/daughter. If your child is planning on participating please return the permission slip by March 18th. Please encourage your child to participate. We do not require that any child turn in money, but permission slip is required. It is our policy that every participant will receive a certificate and a sticker. All donations should be in the envelope and returned on March 19th. All checks should be made out to the American Heart Association. Thank your gifts will be distributed 4-6 weeks following the event. If you are jumping in honor of, or in memory of someone, please fill out their name on a heart attached to this sheet. We will add them to our tribute wall. Please enclose them in your donation envelope.
