I love teaching 5th grade, so much that I have been doing it for 20 years here
in Lexington. I consider it a privledge to work in this community and with
its children. Thank you for proving I made the right choice everyday.
I am a mother of two teenage boys that keep me quite busy and happy. I also
have an adorable puppy named Gizmo and cat named Skittles. Let's not forget
Mr. Carter, my husband and the set maker for our stage productions. He is as
committed to a great show as I am and works hard to give us a colorful background.
Together we love to boat, hike, shop, read and travel.
I promise to work everyday to make my lessons chuck full of fun and
excitement. One of my favorite sayings is:
"If you know what you don't know then you know something, but if you don't
know what you don't know then you don't know anything."
Meaning, it is important to understand what it is that you are having trouble
with in order to improve. This being the case, I will be helping your
children to assess their own work to identify where they are having trouble.
This will be done with writing assignments, assessment reviews and daily
assignments. Together we will break down their understanding and learn to be
specific in what they need to work on.
