Announcements

Thank you to Dr. Conti's office for a fabulous lesson on why we need to keep our teeth healthy and clean.  Students even participated in an experiment which demonstrated how teeth can get cavities.  Dr. Conti's office also sent each child home with a toothbrush and small travel bag of goodies.
Thank you!

Donations! Please send in any empty paper towel rolls, disinfectant wipes, clean empty yogurt containers or clean empty baby food jars.
THANK YOU!

Congratulations to Landon! He earned the Physical Education good sportsmanship award for January 2012! Great Job Landon!

Long Vowel Sounds
This week we will introduce long vowel /i/ with a silent e.

Please send in child sized shoe boxes by next Monday.  We will be decorating them in class and using them as our Valentine's day mailboxes. If you have any Valentine's day decorations to donate to our mailbox decorating session, please send those in too.

Homework
There seems to be a little confusion about reading logs for homework.  If the book reports are being completed, I am assuming the students are reading, so reading logs are no longer needed.  If using the reading log helps keep track of reading for your child, please feel free to continue to use them.  Math homework is usually a game to practice a certain skill.  Randomly I will have a recording sheet to be returned.  If the math homework is a game, the math can stay at home.

Thank you for your help with the winter weather gear.  Please continue to help your child pack boots, snowpants and a change of shoes during this snowy winter weather.
