I update this website each Sunday night (or Monday if it is a holiday). I also have the homework written up on the white board in my classroom. I assign the homework for the entire week, so that students know what they will have due from one Monday until the following Monday.
If you would like to be notified when I update my website, please sign up on the News Flash feature (back at the home page).

Upcoming club meetings and after-school help:

My after-school help days:  Monday and Thursday (full-day Wednesday and Friday by arrangement)
Monday, April 30: After school review for test
Tuesday, May 1: Roots and Shoots
Thursday, April 26: After school help and meet with students going to regional science fair

Students who need help with science have a number of choices:
  • See me after school or during a study period
  • Email me after school or on weekends--I check my email several times a day
  • Call a friend or get together with a friend
  • Ask an older sibling who had me for science!
  • Use the Internet to look for help--there are many helpful websites with animations, explanations, definitions, and so on.
Homework for May 29-June 20, 2012
NOTE: To run some of the assigned games and animations, you may need to download Adobe Shockwave for your computer.  It is a safe plug-in that allows you to see these websites: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

NOTE: Don't forget about the blog extra credit.  Read one of my science blog entries and make a comment for up to 10 extra credit points per term (1-2 points per comment):

The eighth grade team's late work policy allows for late work to be turned in
for credit only by the end of that calendar week. If a child misses an
assignment on Monday, they will be allowed to turn it in by that Friday, four
days later. If a student misses an assignment on a Thursday, they will be
allowed to turn it in by that Friday, the next day. Exceptions will be made
for absences based on the rules in the student handbook. Work of greater
importance (such as projects or research papers) may be given more time at the
discretion of the teacher.
