Welcome to first grade! I am very excited that I will be working with you and your child. Together we
can make this year a wonderful, meaningful, enjoyable, and successful experience.
During the month of September, students will learn each other's names and interests, and become
comfortable with daily routines and expectations. We will discuss our hopes and dreams for this school
year, and work together to establish class rules that will support each child having a safe, learning filled
school year.
A meeting for parents wishing to volunteer in the classroom will be held on Monday, September 28,
2009, at 3:00 in our classroom. If you are interested in volunteering, you must be CORI approved.
Mrs. Dodge can help you with the process. We will be needing volunteers three mornings a week from
8:50 to 10:15. This is a change from the parent letter sent home this summer, as our schedule
changed.
