MONDAY, MARCH 14: PATRICIA MACLACHLAN--AUTHOR
We are SO pleased to welcome Newbery Award-winning author of "Sarah, Plain and Tall,"
Patricia MacLachlan, to our Book Week. She is also the author of the very popular Mass. Children's
Book Award (MCBA) title "Edward's Eyes." Her most recent chapter book, "Word
After Word After Word," deserves the many starred reviews about a writer who helps 4th grade
students understand the power of the written word. Patricia MacLachlan is from Williamsburg, MA.

TUESDAY, MARCH 15: ERIC BERLIN--AUTHOR
It only makes sense that the creator of several crossword puzzles for the New York Times would
choose students solving puzzles as the backdrop of his two mysteries: "The Puzzling World of
Winston Breen" and the sequel, "The Potato Chip Puzzles" (and MCBA nominee.) "The Potato Chip
Puzzles" is the most borrowed book in our library this year! Eric Berlin is from
Milford, Connecticut.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16: CHARISE MERICLE HARPER--AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR
You can't help but smile when you see the illustrations or read the stories by Mamaronek, NY
resident Charise Mericle Harper! "Just Grace" (another MCBA nominee!) and the others in this
chapter book series have been a huge hit! And our copies of her "Fashion Kitty" series and recent
chapter book "Flashcards of My Life" never stay on the shelf very long. Her nonfiction book
"Imaginative Inventions" is just right for our upcoming fourth grade "Invention Convention." And
her new picture book, "Cupcake: A Journey To Special," is a unique and humorous way to help
children understand the importance of their own individuality.

THURSDAY, MARCH 17: BETTY LEHRMAN--STORYTELLER
Betty Lehrman has been a previous Book Week guest and her interactive stories about Laura Ingalls
Wilder from the "Little House" books were so popular we have invited her to come again. Her stories
are enriched by selected students dressing up in period costumes and becoming part of the re-
enactments.

BOOK FAIR IN LIBRARY: Mar. 14-17, 2011
During Book Week there will also be a Book Fair in the Library where our guests' books can be
purchased for signing as well as other books of interest to 4th and 5th grade students and their
families.
The Book Fair will be open during school hours and for an hour after school each day. Students
visit the Book Fair with their class once on Monday or Tuesday, and once again on Wednesday or
Thursday.
The Book Fair will also be open Wednesday evening until 8 p.m. during the Ice Cream Social.
At that time, titles of interest to adults (especially Book Club groups!) will be available for
purchase.
Our Book Fair is held under the auspices of Barnes & Noble in Framingham. Cash, checks and
credit cards will be accepted. However, GIFT CARDS ARE NOT ABLE TO BE VERIFIED SO CAN NOT
BE HONORED. We appreciate your understanding.
If you are sending a check to school with your child, please do not write in an exact amount.
Instead, it is suggested that you include a dollar limit on the "memo" line of the check.
**YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME TO THE BOOK FAIR TO PURCHASE BOOKS THAT WILL SUPPORT
BOOK WEEK. YOU OR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS CAN GO TO www.bn.com/mybookfair
DURING THE DATES OF BOOK WEEK (March 14-17) AND ENTER THE BOOKFAIR ID #10431146 ON
