When is the Lip Sync Contest?
The Blake Middle School's 12th Annual Lip Sync Contest is back!
The shows will take place on November 19th and 20th!
I would like to participate, what do I have to do?
READ THIS PAGE, and COME TO THE INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th!
How do I know if my song is appropriate for the Lip Sync Contest?
Ms. Allen will contact you as soon as possible if your song can
not be used. Please be sure your performance is appropriate for
the middle
school in lyrics, dance moves, costumes, etc. Remember that songs
can not be
over 3
minutes. So, pay attention to all these details when picking a
song
and dance.
If I am participating, how can I make sure my family gets tickets?
At the dress rehearsals, performers will be given a chance to buy
up to 3
tickets in advance at $5 each. Please take advantage of this
ticket purchasing opportunity since the
tickets do get sold out once they are available to the rest of
the school.
When are dress rehearsals and meetings?
Meetings will be FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15th and MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1st.
These meetings should be short. On the 15th, we will discuss song
selection issues and groups with the same song choice. On the
1st, I will want to see your costumes.
Dress Rehearsals will be WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17th and THURSDAY,
NOVEMBER 18th.
(in the auditorium).
DRESS REHEARSALS CAN NOT BE MISSED! At the meeting on November
1st, I will annouce when your group will be doing the dress
rehearsal and which night your group will be performing.
How do I know what night I will be perfoming?
Please keep both nights free. It will depend on how
many groups we have from each grade. You will know for sure by
the last meeting.
Who do I contact with questions?
Please contact Ms. Allen with any questions.

Who will the proceeds be going to this year?
Each year the performers choose a number of organizations to whom
we will give the proceeds.
How are the performers judged?
We will have teachers acting as judges for the Lip Sync Contest.
They will
be paying attention to four main components of the performaces:
BEST DANCE, BEST LIP SYNC, BEST COSTUME, and BEST OVERALL
PERFORMACE!
I lost my permission slip, what do I do?
You will need to get another copy in the guidance office.
How do I buy tickets if I am not a performer?
We will let you know when you can buy them. We generally put them
on sale the week of the show.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE SHOW? When do performers arrive?
The performance is in the auditorium. The doors open at 6:30 PM
on
November 19th and 20th and the show will start at 7:00.
Performers need to
be there by 6:00PM, the latest. The show should be over by
