We have recently learned 5 healthy eating tips from Dr. Katz's "Nutrition
Detective" power point. Please read labels and be careful of products that
claim O Trans fats. After reading the ingredient label if a food product
does not say "Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils" including palm, soybean
and cottonseed oil, then that product may not contain any trans fats.
If the first ingredient is sugar.....put it down.
If the product has "high fructose corn syrup" think twice.
If the product has a very long list of ingredients than choose another
product that has a shorter list.......maybe an apple!
And always look for fiber in a product. More than 1 gram of fiber is
recommended.
