Dear Families,
The months of Fall... October and November find us really beginning to roll
along. The children are becoming more and more independent as they become
familiar with our routines. They can now negotiate the workboard visual
schedule and move to their centers. They are understanding that there are
"jobs" that are must do's as well as some choices. We are opening more centers
too. Our listening center and computers are being utilized more frequently.
New friendships are forming and some old ones slip away. This is a natural
progression as kids try out different peers! The Halloween excitement
certainly starts early and lingers on. It is such an exciting time for young
children. The changes of the fall are noted and enjoyed. We are beginning to
ask for each child's personal best work when they are trying something out. We
are all here to stretch, grow and learn and become the best we can. You can
support your child by asking about their favorite parts of their day. How was
Art today? Did they play with anyone at choice time? Did they listen to a new
story at the listening center? What was the job at the ABC center this week?
Did you have math workshop? Some children will tell you every detail and for
others, their day seems to disappear on the bus! Continue to check their
backpacks and the weekly newsletters on Monday.
Thank you so much for all the donations. We are in good shape for now.
We can always use glue sticks. Tissues, paper towels, and ziplock bags are set
for now. We appreciate your support.
The Halloween parades will be at 10:00 and 1:15. Weather permitting,
we will parade around the outside of the school. When you send your child to
school we ask that no pretend weapons come with their costumes. Thank you!
