Thank you to the parents; Mrs. Cumming, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. DiNatale
and Mrs. McNeil for the wonderful Halloween party. The children really
enjoyed it!
It has been a very busy few weeks in Kindergarten. The children have been
working really hard at learning the routines and moving through the classroom
centers by following the classroom visual schedule board.
We have been visited by 3 three Letter People so far this year!. First
Mr. M and his "munching mouth". He was followed by Ms. A and her "aaaachoo
sneeze"; and finally Ms. F and her "funny feet"! Each letter person
has a song that teaches the children about the sound that their letter
makes. The phrase that goes with each letter; i.e "munching mouth", helps
children to identify and hear that particular sound.
Along with each letter person we also have a poem and a small book for
each letter from "Reading Matters". These are the small books your children
are bringing home. As they read to you, encourage them to practicing pointing
to each word as they say them.
Volunteer schedules were sent out last week. Hopefully if you were
contacted by Mrs. Plumb for this month you have received your calendar. If
you were not contacted this month, I'm sure we will see you the next time!
Conference times/notices that most of you chose at PIN night are being
sent home this week. If you could please reconfirm and send back the
confirmation to us as soon as possible. If you were unable to make PIN night
we have given you an open time left in our schedule.
