Student grades will be based on the following:

20%- Homework - Completion and Accuracy

Homework is generally graded for completion. If homework is passed in on
time, shows effort, and is complete, a student will receive full credit(100).
If homework is late (only one day), partially complete, or shows minimal
effort, a student will receive half credit(50). Homework is not accepted
after the one day grace period and students will receive no credit (0).

Homework is graded for accuracy approximately 20% of the time. Students will
not know in advance what homework will be graded for accuracy.

20% - Participation and Classwork

Students must be involved in their own learning!

Participation is extremely important in learning a new language. There will
be frequent opportunities for students to participate in class. I expect
students to speak Spanish as much as possible! Students must be willing to
try!

Classwork expectations include coming to class on time and being prepared,
staying focused and on task, working effectively with group members, and
completing required classroom work.

25% - Quizzes

Quizzes will be given frequently (on average - once a week). These quizzes
will typically cover new vocabulary. However, quizzes will not be limited to
vocabulary. They may take a variety of forms and will cover all types of new
learning.

35% - Tests and Projects

Tests and projects are important assessment tools that will allow students
the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. These, too, will take
a variety of forms and will cover all types of student learning.
