Devoirs - homework

***To print worksheets, see the HOMEWORK section.***

I will expect students to study the vocab list every day for at least 5
minutes. Studying the vocab will be in addition to the assigned homework

Due Wednesday, May 2: Find a picture, about 3 or 4 inches tall, of a person
doing an action (even sunbathing or getting a sunburn) on the beach or in the
ocean. Type or handwrite a sentence (not in the infinitive) about the
picture. This will involve chapter 11 vocabulary. You will cut out around the
picture and sentence and present them in class. After presenting it, you will
staple the picture to the "beach" bulletin board outside the French classroom.

Due Thursday, May 3: No homework.

Due Friday, May 4: Worksheet page 107. See homework to print.

Due Monday, May 7: Cinco de Mayo worksheet.

There will be a quiz on Chapitre 11, les mots 2, on Friday, May 11. Also
included will be a handful of irregular verbs (in the passé composé). These
verbs are: lire, vouloir, voire, pouvoir, recevoir, and être.

No homework during MCAS (Tuesday and Wednesday), but due on Thursday, May 10
will be worksheet page 108. Complete the entire sheet. Note that the bottom
section is about skating (le patin à glace), so all sentences should be
corrected to create a true statement about skating.

Due Friday, May 11: Quiz on chapter 11 les mots 2 AND crossword puzzle
Chapter 11, #2 (see homework to print). Study the irregular verbs ending in
a "u" sound for the quiz.

Due Monday, May 14: Pag 366 in the textbook, rewrite #17 in the passé
composé. Each of the 9 verbs indicated must be written in the passé composé;
the remainder of the paragraph will stay the same but must be written out.
This homework will be graded.

Due Tuesday, May 15: No homework (MCAS)

Due Wednesday, May 16: No homework (MCAS)

Due Thursday, May 17: rewrite paragraph #26 on page 370 in the passé composé.
You will need to refer to your notes or text page 369 in order to complete
this paragraph correctly.

Due Friday, May 18: worksheet page 111 (passé composé of verbs which take
être as the helping verb).

Due Monday, May 21: write four original sentences in the passé composé using
four different verbs which use être as the helping verb in the passé composé.
Use four different subjects. Two of the subjects should be feminine (so that
you have to make the past participle agree with the feminine subject).
Include a negative expression in one of the sentences (ne...jamais;
ne...rien; ne personne; or ne...plus).

There will be a quiz on the passé composé of verbs which use être as the
helping verb AND chapter 11 vocabulary on Tuesday, May 22nd. All of the verbs
on page 369 will be covered (in the passé composé) as well as chapter
vocabulary (chapter 11) (at the beach and the mountain resort).

No homework due Wednesday, May 23rd, but I would encourage all students to
study chapter 11 vocabulary and verbs in order to successfully complete the
test which we started on Tuesday and will wrap up on Wednesday.

Due Thursday, May 24th - Bingo board completed using the 25 words from the
chapter 12 vocabulary list as follows: "se reveiller" (to wake up) all the
way to "les dents" (teeth), AND "tôt" (early) AND "tard" (late). All words in
French. There will be NO free space in the middle.

Due Friday, May 25th - study the BINGO list (not the board). We will play
BINGO in class.

No homework over the long weekend.

Due Wednesday, May 30 - Reflexive verb mini poster. See reflexive verb
handout for help or see textbook page 408. See homework to print for
guidelines.

Due Thursday, May 31 - worksheet page 119 (using reflexive verbs, les mots 1)
Please look at page 408 or the reflexive verb handout for help.
