*  Journal: Describe the sounds you hear

*  Write a poem using sound devices and figurative language

*  Discuss lyric poetry

*  Read “Barter”

*  Homework: FD of a 12 line lyric poem that conveys a message through images

Tuesday, June 10th:

 

*  Share Lyric Poems

*  Define narrative poetry

*  Read “Casey at the Bat”

*  Make a comic strip for “Casey at the Bat”

*  Homework: RD of comic strip due Thursday

FD due on Friday

  • Journal: Brainstorm a list of possible topics that you could write a narrative poem about (personal or not)
  • Work on comic strip
  • Homework: RD due tomorrow
  • FD due on Friday

*  Journal:  Now that we’ve read other examples of narrative poems, add to your list of possible topics. Include both personal stories and fictional stories.

*  Pass in comic strip

*  Discuss ballad poems

*  Brainstorm for a ballad poem

*  Write a ballad poem

*  Homework: write your FD of your ballad poem

*  Homework: write your own lyrics! (rough draft)

*  The FD is due Wednesday and CAN NOT come in LATE!!!!!!!!!!
