What can I do to help my child with reading?
Reading with your child every night will be very helpful. You can also
practice the sounds, ask your child to sound words out, and ask them to read
to you! Working with your child will help with their fluency and accuracy
when reading!
What I can I do to help my child with math?
Help with the nightly homework. If your child is having trouble with a
particular concept, review it with them at home, or contact the teacher with
any questions. Your child can also work on counting to 100, telling time,
practicing shapes, identifying odd and even numbers, writing numbers 1-20,
ordering numbers 1-20, and counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's!
How can I help my child with handwriting?
If your child is struggling with handwriting, draw lines for them to use as
a guide. It is also useful to write the letters and ask your child to trace
them. Your child can also practice writing their first and last name, or to
copy a line out of their favorite book! Make sure they are always starting
their letters at the top!
My child doesn't want to do their homework. What can I do?
Set up a routine with your child and stick to it! Choose a time every day
for them to do their homework, and have them work on a little at a time. It
is important for them to focus on what they are doing, and not rush through
their work! If it is still a struggle to get through homework, try an
incentive chart!
How often will supplies need to be replaced?
Your child's teacher will notify you when supplies are running low.
Remember- your child is always using their supplies and they are easily
misplaced, so don't be surprised if you are contacted frequently!
