FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
How much physical activity does my child need a day? The U.S Surgen General encourages and promotes children older than 2 years old receive and take part in a minimum of 30 minutes of activity every day. How can family T.V time become a more healthy activity? Don't watch on seats or the couch. If possible place some large physio-balls in the t.v room for seats. Sitting on them increases balance, core strength and cordination. How much sleep should my child get every night? Experts agree that growing children need between 8 - 10 hours of sleep per night. Getting adequate sleep ensures a child is alert for school the next day. Are sports drinks really worth it? Sports drinks are a great way to hydrate and replace lost fluids during physical activity. Diluting the sports drink a bit is the best practice. Drinks such as gatorade have large amounts of sugars in them. |
