Greetings. I hope everyone is enjoying the extended holiday vacation and that you all survived
the ice storm. Upon return we will have our work cut out for us.
Grade 7 - has a quiz/test on tools that was to be the Friday after the storm. I think the plan
will be to give it Wed the 7th. Reviewing material (chapt 4 and worksheets) we did surrounding
tools would be a good idea. The "reverse engineering" project where they will be researching a
piece of technology, analyzing the materials usd to make it and preenting their findings as a
PowerPoint to the class will go forward. They also will be learning how to use an outline to
organize their
work.
Grade 8 - The Ecology photojournalism deadline will become Friday the 9th. I have held
several after school sessions and will likely hold another next week for anyone needing
assistance with the formatting of their work. Picture taking should be completed at this
point. They also have been learning about Alien/Exotic species such as the Asian Long Horn
Beetle. There have been some readings and homework surrounding this. We will have a small quiz
on ecological succession and alien/exotic species during the first week back. Then it's onto
climate and biomes.
