Required Supplies

The following items are items that are essential to playing and maintaining an instrument.

Flute

1)Instrument in good, clean working order

2)Music stand for home practice

3)Soft cloth for polishing the outside of the flute

4)Cleaning Rod

5)Small, soft cloth or paper towels for cleaning the inside of the flute

Clarinet

1)Instrument in good, clean working order

2)At least 3 playable reeds at any given time (buy reeds by the box)

*Reed strength (often called size)2 for first year players, 2 1/2 for second year players, 2 1/2 or 3 for 3rd year players

3)Music stand for home practice

4)Cleaning swab for cleaning the inside of the clarinet

5)Cork grease

Saxophone

1)Instrument in good, clean working order

2)At least 3 playable reeds at any given time (buy reeds by the box)

*Reed strength (often called size) 2 for first year players, 2 1/2 for second year players, 2 1/2 or 3 for 3rd year players

3)Music stand for home practice

4)Cleaning swab for cleaning the inside of the saxophone

5)Polishing cloth for cleaning the outside of the saxophone

Trumpet

1)Instrument in good, clean working order *move your slides every day*

2)Valve oil

3)Slide grease

4)Music stand for home practice

5)Cleaning kit, including polishing cloth for the outside of the trumpet, brushes for cleaning valves and mouthpiece

Trombone

1)Instrument in good, clean working order

2)Slide oil or cream for the big slide

3)Slide grease for the tuning slide

4)Music stand for home practice

5)Cleaning kit including polishing cloth for the outside of the trumpet, snake for cleaning slide, mouthpiece brush

Drum Pad and Bells

1)Instrument (Drum Pad and Xylophone) in good working order

2)Music stand for home practice

*Note-the bells do have a music stand on them but unfortunately it is not usable while drum pad is being played.
