Our band program is facing a significant financial strain that could jeopardize the program in its current state. The program is funded largely by the user fee. The problem is that while the cost of running the program is increasing, the student population (and the potential number of students in the program) is expected to dip pretty drastically over the next few years. In order to help maintain the program, we began a Band Booster program in the Spring of 2007.

In short, the purpose of the organization is twofold: 1)To help impress upon the community the importance of instrumental music in the complete development of a child, and 2)To operate fundraisers that provide goods and services of value to the Topsfield community.

I  would like to offer my thanks to the three ambitious people who will continue to be the Co-Presidents of Band Boosters: Joyce Cryan, Patti Mullen, and Jen Hutt. With their leadership, we will be able to continue the success that Band Boosters has enjoyed over the past 3 years. They will be asking for some assistance from time to time and hopefully everone can take a turn volunteering for a Band Booster event, whether it be to bake something, chaperone, help run a game, or scoop ice cream. I am excited to have not just one President, but THREE!
