Changes in the Earth’s Crust and Landforms: Fill-in study Guide

Vocabulary

*A great strategy for studying vocabulary is using flashcards. You can take them and study anywhere (i.e. car, bus, during commercials, or while walking to school). It helps if you make two piles of the words you know well and the words you need to work on. Afterward, keep mixing them up, so they all stay fresh in your memory. You can also put the word and definition on two separate cards, flip them all over, and play memory.

You may either write the definition on the lines provided, or you can make flashcards to use for studying.

Big Ideas

*One way to study the big ideas is to explain them/teach them to someone else. Have a friend or family member ask you about a big idea and you explain it in your own words. They can use your study guide and vocabulary to ensure you have explained it completely. Another strategy to use is try writing about the big idea. Write the big idea at the top of a paper and then bullet all of the supporting details for the idea without using your study guide as a reference. When you think you have all of the necessary information, use your study guide and resources from class to check over your bulleted list. This is a great way for you to see how much you know about each concept and what you might need to ask more questions about.
