What's Up in ELA?

Monday:

  1. Daily Language Practice.
  2. Review Old Man and the Sea pgs 9-25 Homework and Quiz.
  3. Begin Pgs 9-25 Vocabulary Sentence Stem Assignment.
  4. Homework: Finish Vocabulary Assignment.

 Tuesday:

  1. Daily Language Practice.
  2. The Old Man and the Sea Non-Fiction Reading Assignment: Notes & Module. We will go over strategies on pre-viewing a non-fiction text with multiple choice questions. We will then apply these strategies to a passage on deep-sea fishing (This will help kids read critically, and also prepare them for the struggle Santiago is about to go through in The Old Man and the Sea).
  3. Homework: Study for Thursday's Pgs. 9-25 Vocabulary Quiz (click here if you need a word list). 

Wednesday:

  1. Daily Language Practice.
  2. Finish activities from Tuesday.
  3. Homework: Homework: Study for Thursday's Pgs. 9-25 Vocabulary Quiz (click here if you need a word list). 

Thursday:

  1. Daily Language Practice.
  2. Pgs. 9-25 Vocabulary Quiz.
  3. Begin reading Pgs. 25-54 in class.
  4. Homework: None.

Friday:

  1. Continue reading Pgs. 25-54 in class.
  2. Begin Pgs. 25-54 Homework Assignment.
  3. Homework: Finish reading and Homework Assignment.
