I just started Can't Buy Me Love: The Beatles, Britain, and America by Jonathan Gould. I love The Beatles, and I like Gould's approach of blending biography, sociology, and musicology. Click the cover to see a review.
I've finished reading The Likeness by Tana French. It's a thriller told by detective Cassie Maddox, who reluctantly investigates the murder of a woman who looks just like her. Not only that, the victim had stolen the identity of a "student" Maddox invented for an undercover operation years earlier. Click the cover to learn more.
I also recommend Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why. A few students recommended it to me last year, and I LOVED it. It's the story of Clay Jensen, who receives a mysterous package filled with audio-cassette tapes. When he plays them, he hears the voice of his classmate, Hannah Baker, who committed suicide weeks before. Thirteen tapes... Thirteen reasons, and Clay is one of them. Journey with him as he searches for his reason why. Click the cover to check out its web site.
