Homework Policy


 


Grading Policy for Grade Six Geography

Homework 25% Maps 25%
Activities 25% Tests/ Quizzes 25%

Homework is not assigned on a daily basis, it is assigned when
needed. Homework will be graded on a 4 point scale. Your grade will
be figured as follows:

4 pts.: on time, complete, all directions were followed
2 pts.: one day late, incomplete, directions not followed
0 pts.: more than one day late or one day late but incomplete,
directions not followed.

Reasons for homework:
Effort is important. Homework is not busy work nor is it something I
assign because I have to. Homework is assigned for one of the
following reasons:

A. to practice a skill learned in class
B. to introduce a topic to be discussed the next day
C. to review a topic covered in class that day
D. to learn about something that class time does not allow

Homework Benefits:
There are rewards for those who complete their homework. They are as
follows:

A. you will have practiced, reviewed, or previewed a topic or skill
B. your homework grade will be high
C. you will be better prepared for class, activities, and quizzes/ tests
D. you may participate in Homework Lotto
E. if your marking period HOMEWORK average is 80% or better, you
will receive a homework pass good for one geography homework during
the next marking period.

It is important for me to know that both the student and parents/
guardians have read this policy. Please complete the section below.

  • 1) If you have read the policy above, please type in your name (both
    student and parent/ guardian). This counts as a homework assignment
    for students so please reply before 7:30AM on Thursday, Sept. 12.
