Where does homework get turned in?
There is a homework bin for 5L by my door in room 14.
All homework goes in there unless I have stated otherwise in
class.
What should I do if I forget my planner?
Check the website. If it is not updated (which will happen
sometimes)check or call a friend.
May we have work given ahead of time if we are going away?
The school policy states that you will be given the work upon
your return
and that you have the amount of days you were absent to make up
the work.
How much time should I be spending on my homework each night?
Typically you should spend about an average of 1 hour per night.
Some nights
may be less and some may be more. If it seems too much or too
difficult send
in a parent note and we will work with you. Please try all
homework. In the
event of an extreme condition at home let me know, please.
What do I do if I have trouble with my homework?
Please be sure to try. Go as far as you can with your homework.
Write down
what you don't understand or as far as you do understand so that
I know what
to help you with the next day. Write NH (need help) next to any
individual
examples
or questions. If the whole assignment is too challenging please
have a
parent or guardian sign the top of the homework and date it. I
will be sure
to find you and go over the assignment again.
How do I publish my work?
*Every written assignment should have a heading in the upper
right corner:
Name (First AND Last) always, and your # (such as: 12L for
student 12 in
Mrs. Logue's class)
Subject (such as: Reading)
Date
Assignment (such as: Boo Bio Part 1 #1)
*It should be done in ink or typed in a basic font (no
cute/clever font
unless pre-approved by your teacher).
*Use cursive for all hand-written published work.
*Use clean white lined or white printing paper.
*Published work should not be your rough draft.
*It should be clean and neat, and not wrinkled.
*Language Arts "No Excuses" (given to you by Mrs.
Heistand) should be
followed. Example: No spelling errors, always use capitals at the
beginning
of a sentence or for proper nouns/names, and always use correct
punctuation
at the end of a senetnce.
*Follow any other special directions given at the time of the
assignment by
the teacher.
What is the schedule for Vocabulary assignments?
See the Vocabulary Schedule page of this website.
When will there be quizzes in Math?
Plan a quiz in Math each Tuesday.
If we are finished a chapter, the quiz will become a test. A
minimum of one
week's notice will be given for tests.
What do I use to study for Math quizzes and/or tests?
Always bring home your Marble Math Journal and use class notes.
Consult the textbook when you have had assignments based upon the
book.
(The textbook is not always used but the Marble Math Journal is!)
Also use written assignments and worksheets we have done as
classwork or
homework. These assignments should be kept in a Math folder which
will start the first day of school.
What do I do with my science work?
EVERY ( I mean EVERY!) science assignment, notes, quiz, test,
experiment
observation sheet,
and activity sheet are to be put in the science binder. Quizzes
and test that go home for parents to review are to be signed and
returned
to school and placed in the science binder in the sequence that
Mrs. Logue
requests in class.
Binders remain in school unless preparing for a test and Mrs.
Logue
assigns taking them home for studying purposes.
You will receive science binder grades so every piece of work
must be kept
organized in the binder in order to receive full credit. This can
be an easy
way to earn an A, or it can become a poor grade if you do not
remain
organized. If you need help staying organized-ASK for HELP
immediately!
Don't wait. I am here to help you always. =)
