The testing windows for the 2009 MCAS are as follows:
March 30 – April 10 Grades 3/4/5 ELA
Tuesday, March 31 Grade 4 ELA Composition [State-wide date]
May 11- 28 Grades 3/4/5 Math
Science and
Technology
History and
Social Science
Whenever possible, please avoid scheduling appointments during the above time
frames. We are in the process of determining specific dates for specific grade
levels. I will forward these dates as soon as they have been established. I
expect to be able to do so prior to the Thanksgiving break.

State Report Due Dates
____1. Jan. 19-23 Your state is selected and your research begins in class.
You have visited the Schofield and Wellesley Libraries for books on your state.
____2. Jan. 26-30 Your research continues in school and at home. It is
important for your families to see your work each night.
____3. Maps, graphics, pictures, etc. will be collected and printed out at
home for each section. You will bring this to class in a folder BY SECTION as
your teacher assigns it. This will be on the class web site and in your
homework notebooks. Please be sure to keep up with this part at home.
____4. Feb. 2-11 All state research will be completed.
____5. All maps, pictures, titles, etc. have been completed and handed in for
each section. Written sections will be worked on in class and at home.
____6. Billboard designs and construction begin in class
____7. Independent Projects Idea Paper is due Feb. 6th and must be signed by
you and your family.
____8. All independent projects will arrive in your classroom at 8:20 on March
10th.
March 11th- The Regions Fair will be in the gym first thing in the morning.
This will be followed by state billboard and project displays in each 4th
grade classroom.
