My name is Brenna Ireland and this is my fifth year teaching at Shaker Lane.
I am a graduate of Boston College, with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, and have two
Bachelor of Arts Degrees from the University of Connecticut. I started by teaching first grade in Littleton,
and then continued to teach second grade for three years. I am eager to continue my journey
of teaching within the Littleton School system with you and your child as I begin to teach the transitional
class. This will be a special class for me, and I am excited for the events the school year
will bring.
When your child enters his or her classroom in September, they
will be entering a respectful and peaceful climate. I will create a place for
learning that challenges all children and allows them to feel safe to take
educational risks. I believe all children have the capacity to learn. As their
teacher, I will provide them with the knowledgeable tools they will need to
achieve their educational goals.
We are working together to provide these tools to your child. As a team, we
should both be fully aware of your child’s progress. During the school year, I
will be sending work and assignments home in a weekly “take home” folder. I
ask that acknowledge the contents of this folder. Please do
not hesitate to comment on your child’s work and/or contact me at anytime.
I know you, your child and I will make this school year rewarding, fulfilling
and most of all FUN!
