Monday...January 2010

Chapter 5 in Social Studies is a doozy! I suggest that the students bring their book home nightly to review what we do that day, as well as the previous days' material. There will be lots of review at the end of the chapter, but this nightly review would be most helpful.

FYI: If your child goes to historyalive.com they are able to take a "mock" test on the social studies chapters. They are usually very close to the actual test. This is very good practice. Students who do this and bring a copy of their final score will get extra points on the test.
 
HOMEROOM 9
MONDAY: Gym
TUESDAY: Music and computer (every other week with me)
WEDNESDAY: Art
THURSDAY: Gym and Second Steps
FRIDAY: Media Center

 
HOMEWORK:
1. Every child should be doing some reading in their AR book every night. Students need 25 points by the end of the term.Children should now have an AR book with them at all times in class...
I will be doing random checks to make sure the students have a book. This will count as a homework grade in reading...100 for having it, zero for not having it.

2. Spelling test next Monday: leukemia, memorial, monument, transfusion, radiation, weary, wistful, listless, ancestors, kimono

PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING IN A WATER BOTTLE...All children
should have water bottles for class to limit class disruptions. Please make sure the student has WATER and not a sports drink.
