How do I add money onto the lunch card?

You can add money online or send in a check. All money coming into the
classroom should come in an envelope with their name clearly marked on the
outside.
You should check your account online on a regular basis to see that your
balance isn't low. Some of the students get upset when they go through the
line and are told "your account needs money." The kids have no control over
this situation, but feel the frustration and confusion when they are told -
you need money.

How long should my child be spending on homework?

The homework policy states that third graders should be expected to spend no
more than 30 minutes on homework, not including the 20 minutes of reading. If
your child finishes quickly have them check out the various websites, practice
math facts, or read. If your child struggles and needs a lot of assistance,
please make a note of that in the Agenda or contact the teacher.

What is the purpose of the Agenda Mate?

The Agenda Mate and orange homework folder go back and forth to school every
day. The students are responsible to write down the homework assignments on a
daily basis. Parents, or adults in charge, should check the Agenda nightly to
confirm the student wrote the assignment accurately, that they have done their
best work to complete the assignment, and you are in agreement that the work
is acceptable. If all that is done, I'd ask that you initial the Agenda
indicating they have completed all parts of the assignment and remind them to
pack it back into their bag.

What is the best way to get in touch with the teacher?

It is best to reach me by phone. Please leave a voice mail at 978-352-8616
ext. 101 and leave a number where I can return the call during the day. The
class has their specials from 2:30 - 3:00 and I am able to make phone calls
during that time. Making an appointment is always preferable to just dropping in.
