About The Teacher

I have been at Spofford for a number of years and have watched the town and 
the school grow. With each addition to our building we are able to offer 
children a richer learning community.
I serve on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Council for the Social
Studies as well as the National Standards for the Social Studies Revison 
Panel.
 I am also a teacher consultant for the National Geographic Society.This 
summer I spent several weeks in the Arizona traveling the Grand Canyon area.

My own children are older now which means I have survived both the high 
school years and college tuitions. I am always delighted to receive visits 
from former students who share their experiences in school, the military and 
career opportunities.

Mission For The Class

Our goal is to master the material in the grade 6 curriculum and make a
successful transition to middle school. It is my hope that students will
develop an affection for social studies, an interest in maps of all kinds and
an enthusiasm about the world in which they live. Good citizens of the future
know where they are in the world and what is going on elsewhere.
