Citywide PTO MEETING: The next citywide PTO meeting will be at Broad Meadows on Monday Feb. 13th - Colleen Roberts and Dr. DeCristofaro will speak on Massachusetts’ transition to the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics which is ongoing through 2014, along with a transition to new MCAS tests.
Instant Alert System: With the winter months in full swing, we will once again be using the Honeywell Instant Alert System to communicate school closings and delayed starts to the school day. Kindergarten registration for the 2012—20113 school yearwill be held on March 6, 2012 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the school. Children who will be 5 years of years of age on or before August 31, 2012 should register at their home school. If your child presently attends a Pre K program in QPS it will not be necessary to register them as QPS already has the information on file. The required forms that need to be completed for registration will be available on the QPS websitewww.quincypublicschools.com. Please feel free to contact the main office if you need more information.
BoxTops for Education: Thank you for participating in the Box Tops for Education Program as we just received a mid year check for over $500. Special thanks to parent Maura Mayo for volunteering her time to managing this ongoing effort. Truly appreciated and keep on clipping!
The Squantum School Players: Proudly presentMastering Math: A Sherlock Holmes Problem Solving Mystery. The performance will be held in the school gym on Thursday, February 16that 6:00 p.m.
Special Olympics: Save the Date - Squantum will once again be hosting the Special Olympics in the school gym on Friday, February 10thfrom 9:00 to 10:30 in the school gym.

Through the hard work of one of our parents the Squantum School PTO has a new web site. Please visit our new web site at www.squantumpto.com. When you open up the site you will see that you can register on line to receive all the important notifications that you have come to rely upon from our principal. In addition, we will be updating the site on a regular basis to keep our families updated on school events, news and general information. We will be transitioning away from our teacherweb site, and closing down the PTO site on teacher web, within the next 30 days, and would ask that you enter in your email at our new site so you stay informed.
