Book Report Ideas
Here are some suggestions for materials to have on hand that your child can use for some of the book report projects:
construction paper
glue
markers
crayons
colored pencils
fabric
writing paper
yarn
shoe boxes
old magazines
pipe cleaners
Model Magic or clay
Sometimes the children will be asked to do book report projects of their own choosing. Here are some suggestions just in case your child is at a loss:
Draw or paint pictures relating to the story
Make a dictionary of new or unusual (INCH) words from the book
Dress up as one of the characters to read your report.
Cover a square box with pictures of different scenes from your story.
Make a prop bag by putting things into it relating to your story. Be sure that you have something to say about each of your props.
Make a model or puppet of one or more of the characters using legos,clay, yarn, paper bags, socks or whatever materials you have. Put on a puppet show depicting a scene from your book.
Make a book jacket for the story that you read.
Write a poem about your story or one of the characters.
Make a comic strip to retell your story.
Make a poster showing an important scene from your story.
Make a collage with pictures of things that are part of the story.
Make an advertisement for your book.
Think up your own wonderful idea!
